Its been a pretty tough month to say the least, and we are looking for things to pick up in the new year starting at Cheltenham on New Years Day. The xmas week has been a hectic one, with a huge amount of racing on, and a huge amount of that, being very competitive stuff. We are looking forward to the new year for another reason too, and that's the addition of another couple of contacts within the industry, which will be very helpful when we are considering our picks to have that extra information and inside edge. Roll on 2009!

23rd December 2008

Well, we cant pretend that we are sad Christmas is here, it is giving us a couple of days rest to get our heads back around the form for Boxing day. It been a tough week, and indeed the month of December is eating into Novembers profits at this stage. We hope to be able to find some of those nice juicy big prices that we like to find at the main meetings over the break between Christmas and New Year, and our heads will be firmly fixed in the formbook, searching out those opportunities, to get the new year off to a cracking start at Cheltenham. Below is our performance chart to Level £100 stakes since we launched the new service at the beginning of November. Back to around +50pts.

One final thing before we get to the new year, you will notice a host of changes with the site over the coming weeks. we know we have some regular visitors coming back and using the STATS ATTACK section of the site for a little daily research, but would like your feedback on what else you would like to see added to the site as a resource you could use on a daily basis. We are willing to consider almost anything, and if its within our capabilities we will happily add it to help you find what you're looking for. Am update: What fantastic racing we can enjoy this weekend. We here at OSB and mob-horseracing-tips are looking forward to this afternoons action almost as we are looking forward to landing some nice odds today. Its Saturday, its competitive and that usually means nice juicy odds to be had. In fact including in the tips mailed out to subscribers this morning, after a very long night going through the cards for the best opportunities, we have tipped runners at the following prices in today's mail out 8/1 - 13/2 - 8/1 again. and we think the winner of the big race could be as big as 25/1 today. "We have a quiet day on our hands today, with Cheltenham looking quite competitive, and whilst we do famcy both BALLYFITZ and GARDE CHAMPETRE, the pricing is prohibitive given the quality of their respective rivals.
 
One however that we will be playing small stakes with, now seeing the odds, and could be just under the radar is in the 12:35 at Doncaster.
 
TITFER has shown little to date over recent hurdle outings but does seem to race well, if not spectacularly. We find it difficult to advise a win bet on this Carroll runner, but this youngster is gaining a stone against most of his rivals in this and could land a nice little pace bet. This is a system bet from MOBPLSYS1, Stranger things have come from this system, so we would be fools to discount this at a current, generally available 16/1.
 
We may have some infofor tonight at Wolves. We expect it to be late and will update via SMS"

Tim Easterby is mentioned in the Doncaster yard targets section for his bumpers, his qualifiers in this section also are worthy of note, especially with the place system. his runners have a 60% Place strike rate,so command some attention. The yard have kept this one busy over the past month or so campaigning him over fences on all types ground from good to firm, right down to heavy. He has won round here over hurdles back in January so will be ok with the galloping left handed nature of the track and the long run in of course. He has cometed in three beginners races and whilst he is yet to win one, he has found only one too good on two occasions. He's not without his chance and we would be looking for something in the region of 8/1 - 10/1.
 
1.05 Doncaster

This one ran ok last time out when 4th of 12 at Sedgfield on good to soft ground. The system believes he can go one better this afternoon, a place or EW bet again, and around 8/1 or more would be fair.

In the 2.15 Doncaster
We like the loook of VICTORIAS GROOM.  This is one we will be surely following closely throughout the season, as we have been waiting for him to turn up over fances actually, or if appearing over hurdles at a mark of 114, which he did last month at Huntingdon. Dropped 2 lbs for this, we think he has every chance after blowing the cobwebs of a break away

Well, systems have given us a day off today, with no qualifiers. And things are a little light on the ground of stand out opportunities for investment, but we have a couple that could return us a little smile.
 
2.10 Lingfield
 
RAHYS CROWN. This former Hannon horse, now with Gary Moore still sites some 14lbs lower in the handicap than when winning here in 2006. The whole of 2007 was missed, and although not looking to be running to that form since, was in better comapny last time out here over 2f further. He drops back to the course winning distance today after not being far away despite finishing 6th last time. The market would suggest he was fancied in that race and this drop back in trip can only be a positive. At around the 6/1 mark, he is worth some interest.
 
12.55 Mussleburgh
 
We shant be getting any 6/1 about DIVERS from Ferdy Murphy today, but at 11/4 is worth a little investment as he attempts to go one better than the runners up spot behind CARAVEL here latest. The up in distance looks like it was needed on that run and he looks to be returning to the form that saw him finish second at Fontwell back in March. Only small improvement needed, in my book, to get there and take this race.
 
 
1.55 Mussleburgh
 
SUN KING would represent value at around 6/1 for this 2m Handicap hurdle today. He has show he is capable around this distance, and has won round here, whilst his preference for quicker going is handy given todays going. His latest outing saw him one paced from the last to finish third over 1/2 mile more at Market Rasen on soft ground when beaten favourite in a claiming hurdle. He remains 3lbs higher than when winning his last handicap at Huntingdon in August 2007, but has scored a couple of victories since in 2008 in a claimer and a seller. He remains value at his current price.

The weekend has got off to a flying start with just the one advice on Friday providing a 14/1 winner for MOBPLSYS1. Although we lost Cheltenham on Saturday we have followed that up with a 14/1 place for the same system on Saturday and a 4/1 winner we also has a loser too, but we're not frightened to let you know this. To back this up, you will have noticed in the left hand menu column a new button "CHECK OUR RESULTS" This will be live in the next few days, so you can download our results spreadsheet in excel 2003 format. This will be fully filterable, so that you can check

Well, the start of the month had us worried as we went the first four days without finding a winner! But then it came right with 10/1 - 12/1 - 9/2 - 4/1 - 15/8 - 9/4 - 5/2 from 16 bets.

You do the math, and these prices are industry SP. We're not hiding behind Best prices at time of advice or even what you could have had on Betfair. We'll let you take advantage of that yourselves.
