Tuesday 10th to Friday 13th March 2009

Cheltenham Package only £25 - Plus the chance to win tickets to the festival. Click below for our race previews

Tuesday begins - The familiar roar of the tapes rising for the first race. The wait is over and here we go again!

26 Races - 250,000 people - Bets of £500m - Total Prize Money of £3.67m, Its what we've all been waiting for

The feature race on Tuesday is The Smurfit Kappa Champion Hurdle, the most sought after prize anywhere for 2 miles hurdlers. The Irish have won seven of the last ten running's of this historic contest, but Katchit led home a 1-2-3 for Britain in 2008 busting the trend of 5 year olds not winning

Wednesday is time for the Queen Mother Champion Chase, as the best two mile chasers produce a fast and furious contest over the famous Cheltenham fences. For many, this is the most exciting race of the year and Master Minded produced one of the greatest performances of the modern era in 2008. In 2009, Wednesday will have seven races for the first time since The Festival became a four day meeting.

On Thursday (Ladies Day), the long distance hurdlers contest The Ladbrokes World Hurdle. Only the brave and the strong prevail in this three mile contest. Inglis Drever made history by winning the race for the third time in 2008 but who will take the crown this year. The Ryanair Chase is another Grade 1 highlight on Thursday.

Then comes Friday and the highlight of the entire Jump season: the totesport Cheltenham Gold Cup. This is the race that every owner trainer and jockey dreams of winning and it takes a very special horse to win more than once.

Denman led home Kauto Star and Neptune Collognes in a Paul Nicholls-trained 1-2-3 in 2008 but will he defend his title amid rumours the grand national could be a target. Will Kauto Star prove he can do Cheltenham as well as he can do Kempton. Or will we find a new Champion?

We will be previewing each race on our daily News Pages in the run up to the festival starting 14th January. Looking for some Ante-Posts snips

Wednesday 10th March

Nothing doing today, my first tip went off at 401/,and the race was run in a manner that I knew immediately we had done our money, whilst I will be taking a few looks at the ride on Alqaahir tonight. I think there is something in the bag on this one. just a matter of time as to when its going to be let out again I think.

Anyway, I have added an interesting article to my blog tonight. I was going to publish it here but thought it would be a bit long, so feel free to run across and have a look on this page of my blog
