This is the BLOG section where I will let you know what's
going on on a day to day basis. That's not to say I will post everyday, but I
will do the best I can to report the good, the bad and the ugly of the daily
action.

Two seconds this week have caused frustration. that
frustration topped off by Umverti, a tip from the beginning of the month adding
tot he list of tips that have scored on their very next outing when not
followed. I will not be doing anything retrospectively, but may for a short
while trial having an alert set up to watch next time out and start tracking the
success or failure of previous tips on their next run. I know for sure, over the
past month it would have been a very profitable angle.
Results Spreadsheet upgrade;
I have decided to undertake a huge job. Many years ago, I used
to keep very much the same record spreadsheet as I do know. however it also had
every single piece of information on it you could ever wish for. It included,
the trainer, the jockey, the distance of race, class etc etc etc. When I started
making the new sheet when this service began, I decided this was too much to
record and perhaps it was giving me too much to look at. in effect over
analyzing results, but over the last couple of days, I have found myself wanting
to know that information once again, so I can again analyze what the trends
might be since November 2008. It a completely huge job as you can imagine, and I
think in this ever moving betting world where more and more opportunity is in
the market for trading on the exchanges, I shall also look at how price of every
single one of the tips I have made since that time has traded in running to see
if perhaps there are angles to be taken from there too. With as many tips as
there have been over the past 18 months or so, it will be a huge job, and will
take a huge amount of time, but I think it will ultimately be time well spent,
and I am looking forward to getting under, way indeed complete to analyze how
these angles have shaped
Don't forget the current spreadsheet can be downloaded on the

It's been a slow start to the month and a -3point deficit at
present, alleviated by a win from Sea Lord for us on Friday 9th. Few tips thus
far this month as opportunities have looked to be limited. we have had a couple
of nice places, but playing win only on those was frustrating. Plenty of
eyecatchers over the past week have gone in the book and there was one notable
newcomer that didn't actually race that is in the book. I think it's primed to
win on debut, and after attracting some serious support in the market it was
pulled from the race. We will be watching closely for this one we have had a
word on when it appears in the nest week or so.
Monday 5th July
Someone has asked why I don't shout more when I have winners.
Such as the last couple of weeks. Well the reason is because, its only a
small step to a bigger goal. Put it this way, savings account investments
are returning pretty poor interest at present due to the very low base
rates. This serves as a reminder that to make money from horseracing, we
have to get our mindset away from the get rich quick ideas and consider the
investment as long term. Of course a winner at evens gives us a 100% return
on investment. Something you'll never get from the banks. Of course not
every selection wins, neither does every other, but by maintaining a strike
rate above the level required to break even will make a return on
investment. Each bet placed, is like adding another deposit to a savings
account, only the difference is, the deposit into a betting account and the
subsequent transaction is more fluid than savings. Savings sit there and
grow, at a painfully slow rate, at which you are also taxed I might add.
With betting investments each deposit either disappears into the ether, or
gets returned immediately with growth. This is where a separate betting bank
becomes essential. Say you have an investment of £1000 which is sitting in
your bank account, you would use a betting account in much the same way. It
would £1000 which sits in an account for the sole purpose of investment.
This way it is easier to keep track of how the investment/s are performing.
Results of the service for the
past 12 months From 1st July 2009 - 30th June 2010
Bets 524
P/L to single point level stakes
Industry Sp +39.58 (7.5%ROI)
Betfair Sp +148.62 - 5% = +141.18
(26.94%ROI)
So to Betfair Sp including a 5% reduction for commission, we
would have made a 26.94% return on our investment, or for every £100
invested we would made a profit of £26.94. Even at Industry Sp's we would
have got £7.50 for every £100 invested. Can you imagine Lloyds giving back
£750 for £10,000 invested for 12 months. Not on your Nelly.
So, the only time I shout, is when my tracking ROI is above
bank rates, most days come winners or losers, and i know my return on
investment is better than giving it to the banks and not having a clue what
they are actually doing with my money. At least I can watch my money
hurtling around Tattenham corner. It means that I am still shouting when,
after coming off the bend, I know we shan't be adding to the fund, and have
lost a little capital, because in the long term I am still ahead of the
game. I wont get rich quick betting on horses, and neither will you, (unless
we stick 6 at double figure odds in an acca and they all romp home), but we
will get rich quicker than sticking the same money in a bank and waiting for
them to pay the same amount of interest on our money.

We were
well and truly Clive Coxed yesterday, picking two of his runners as the days
investments, we were horrified to one selection, DUNN'O beaten into third by a
stablemate at 33/1!!!!!!! This all happened whilst i was playing Golf in
Cheltenham, (Brickhampton Court - lovely course) and before i went to test a new
Italian Restaurant which for the time being will remain nameless. It was 100%
the worst dining experience of my life. And bearing in mind I've eaten at Gary
Rhodes, believe me it takes some doing. When I say dining, I term it loosely as
the food really never arrived and as for the wine which was dumped on the end of
the table uncorked, well!!
Anyway,
Good to see Ryan Moore being pushed for the jockeys title, although Hanagan has
had around 100 more rides that Ryan, he has maintained a similar strike rate and
leads by 9 at present. h has also provided followers with a level stakes profit
on all his rides this season, something which because of the price Ryan Moore
would never be able to achieve. So Hanagan leads the winners table, but Moore is
ahead on the prize money side of things, having accumulated four times the cash
Hanagan has. Richard Hughes is ion the hunt, and bearing in mind the number of
rides he has, could be worth a little interest in the title race, just one win
behind Moore at this stage and trading in the 9/1 range.

It was a quiet week to finish the month with just four
selections. But with two of the four going in to score, both backed, the early
prices were great and the Betfair Sp's once again saw us with better looking
pockets.
Once again, even with a full 5% commision deducted, the
Betfair Sp on this months profits gave a 70% better return than Industry Sp. No
wonder the high street shops are so quiet these days.

Thursday 24th June 2010
Another two from four with a selection a day since Monday has
seen a place bet score and Tom Folan going in today. the odds haven't been great
but enough to see a nice clear profit for the week so far. it would have been so
much better if Goodbye Cash had finished one place better than his runner up
spot on Wednesday at 20/1. Still, the bar has been well and truly rattled over
the last week or so, and a couple of nice scores too! June has turned out to be
pretty good so far
Sunday 20th June 2010
Perhaps the secret is keeping the blog and website update d as
the corner seems to have been well and truly turned in the past week. Good
winners at Ascot and on the away tracks have got things turned around as we are
in double figure single point stake profit for the month and turning around what
was two poor months previously. Cill Railaig finished off the week at Ascot in
fine style by winning at odds of 16/1 for members, and if advice of Betfair Sp
was heeded then a bumper 22.35 was paid by the blue boys.
Onwards and upwards
Monday 14th June 2010
It has been a long time since the last update on this section
of the site, and indeed any section of the site. the past 2 months have not been
the easiest, and whilst the losses incurred are not nice, they are an inevitable
occurrence during any long term strategy of betting. They come as very mentally
testing and whilst many other services have disappeared during the bad times in
the first 6 months of 2010, MOB is going nowhere. There is nowhere to hide, the
results are in the results section for everyone to see, but if you don't want to
download the full results i can tell you we have made a loss of 37 points in the
last two months. Not to panic though, if last June, July and August are anything
to go by, we made over 100 points profit to single point level stakes last
summer, wiping out previous months losses then. The flat season is more than
underway and the form is really settled and much easier to read.
If you have any questions about the service feel free to

All the best

Saturday 3rd April
It was nice to have the day off yesterday, although the way
racing is changing, it my have been the last UK Good Friday race free day.
I had three selections today, two of which came in a price
bracket I don't generally play, but the reappearances of the pair were much
anticipated. Both available at 2.5+ on Betfair at a point, Pipette scored whilst
Azizi got backed and found an huge improver too good. With a final selection
getting nudged into second it was a day of ifs and buts. Ultimately a 0.5pt loss
on the day having covered a pair at prices which my head says I shouldn't.
Having said that, without the one winner at 2.78 on BFSP the day would have
finished a whole 1 point down, but as it is we lose less than half a point.
I don't generally tip below 4/1, if hardly ever, but should a
50% strike rate be maintained on prices at 6/4 and above, it would return a nice
profit long term so there could be an argument for keeping them in. However at
the prices, the long term return on investment level would drop as the exposure
to loss goes up. So rather than keep them out of the picture completely,
continued diligent selection will be employed. [But not very often - it puts
stress on the old ticker]
The bigger prices are so much more fun and so much more
rewarding. Sunday looks to have a handful to play with
MOB
Thursday 1st April 2010
I have started this new page as somewhere to come and read on
a daily basis should you so wish. Also, the latest news section in the right
hand side bar is not big enough, or indeed set up for a blogging feel. This page
is blank and basic and will serve its purpose.
I very nearly ended up the fool today after
advising a place only bet on Kirkhammerton at Ludlow. he was sent off the 40/1
outsider and stayed on really well to go down only 11/2
lengths to the favourite, returning at 3.85 at Betfair Sp for the place, which
was less than the fractional split of the 40/1 minus the one point lost win
stake, but we were still being offered three places on Betfair after
withdrawals. Them's the breaks sometime, and we get off to a winning start for
the month of April. Looking forward to a big month, and a great Aintree
festival.

26% ROI for past year
Thats right! Over the past 12
months, members have made £26 for every £100 invested in the 524 bets we have
advised. £100 in the bank would have got you about 80p if you were lucky.
