NATIONAL HUNT Here we concentrate on all the national Hunt tracks. there are many more Jump trainers than flat so plenty more stats to trawl through. Once again, we have done the hard work and present the trainer who seem to perform best with particular runners at certain times of the year. making this a must for a look before finalising your daily selections. Simply scroll down to the month you want to look at and see some of the interesting angles we have found. Of course we have not presented every single one. We have kept a few back. Of course, we use these to find our selections for our incredibly successful tipping service. The big yards will always appear at the top of the lists regarding number of winners, so what we are looking for here is something more specific little trends and angles from smaller yard, and the big ones who may look to do badly in some areas, until you break it down to certain hurdle or chase races. Couple this information with the info available in the YARD TARGETS section for a powerful tool over your fellow punters. With this information you are better informed!
Alan King has big Level Stakes Profits through January from a mediocre overall strike rate with no particular types standing out. Venetia Williams who is fairly absent through my November and December figures seems to get going as far as number of winners are concerned in the new year and appears in the top 5 in this respect. She has a good positive overall LSP, but I would advise caution when backing her handicap chasers as this is well below the standard she set in other areas. Nicky Richard appears again as one to watch with handicap Chasers in this month. Howard Johnson and Peter Bowen are worth noting when choosing Novice Chasers. No hurdlers take the eye at all, but do lookout for any Nicky Henderson Bumper runners whilst avoiding like the plague any of Phillip Hobbs'.
Although David Pipe is still in the early years as a trainer in his own right he has already shown that things are firing on all cylinders in Nicholashayne in February, this pretty much reflect what dad, martin, had done in years past too, so no surprises there, but still significant that we can identify this and take advantage. Robert Alner is better known for his chasers than his hurdlers and so it would seem, I would happily avoid every single on of his hurdlers in this month if past records are anything to go by. P R Webber ha an eye catching strike rate with novice chasers in this month.
Jonjo O'Neill creeps up the rankings with number of winners through February, but the amount of runners he has had deem this fruitless as far as returns go, as he really has stepped it up here with many many runners. I would simply advise treading carefully as often, his runners are also underpriced. A few new names creep into things in this month, Lenny Lungo & C J Mann, novice chasers, and Peter Monteith, hurdlers are worth keeping on side, and from smaller yards, wont be too popular in the market either. This is Cheltenham Month - don't forget we have our special service for Cheltenham in our festivals section, click here for the tips that have provided over 60points profit over the last three years at the festival
Spring is here, the big guns have fought it out at Cheltenham, and are re-opposing at Aintree. Our YARD TARGETS section will have highlighted the trainers to follow at the course, do they match up with those highlighted for this month? We could be onto a winner.. Paul Nichols novice Hurdlers have traditionally done well in April, Whilst it would have been advisable to avoid anything Venetia William had run, especially those chasers again!
PAUL NICHOLS tops the charts as far as number of winners goes, but he has no specific areas that stand out as better than others, his best area over the past few years for this month would be with his Novice Chasers. Another with good stats for this code, and in fact very very impressive from few runners is Nicky Richards who has around a 25% average strike rate in this month, but looking at his Novice Chasers alone can boast near 50% from his Cumbrian yard. Not quite 50% but very close, this time with handicap chasers is Miss Emma Lavelle, from her Hampshire base she has a good LSP to back those percentages up. Hurdlers are represented by the yards of C Egerton and P Haslam with their respective Novices, whilst Nicky Henderson and Oliver Sherwood would have looked after you with handicap hurdlers. Already mentioned Haslam yard have few bumper runners out at this time of year but have scored more often than not with them. Dont let them slip through the net, they are worth following.
There is a lot of competitive jumps racing taking place throughout December, and we have to look a bit deeper to find some really good figures for this month. R.C Guest, Nicky Henderson and Alan King are sat on nice healthy Level Stakes Profits for December without staggering strike rates. The King stable having good success with Novice Chasers in particular. Victor Dartnell has some impressive figures and returns from Novice Hurdlers in December, whilst Howard-Johnson and David Pipe have built some nice pre xmas figures with their Novice Chasers. Plenty of Bumper action throughout December and Tim Easterby would have seen you right over the years from a small number of runners.
